چکیده
Automated in-process Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) systems are rapidly gaining traction within the manufacturing industry as they reduce time and costs. When considering calibration verification of such systems, creating defects known geometry nature during deposition a weld can: (I) help examine capability automated system to detect characterise defects, (II) be used form database signals associated with different defect types train intelligent classification algorithms, (III) act basis for gain inspection at high temperatures, where ultrasound beam can skewed result velocity gradients. In view this, this paper investigates two unique methodologies introducing: (a) lack fusion by embedding tungsten in (b) artificial cracks quenching imitate real cracking scenarios. According results Phased Array Ultrasound (PAUT) inspections, were successful. The validity inspections was also verified extracting micrographs from defective sections welds, model-based simulations carried out better understanding wave propagation path interaction generated defects.

Incremental Learning of Ultrasonic Weld Inspection Signals
In this paper, we present LEARN++, a new algorithm that allows existing classifiers to learn incrementally from new data without forgetting previously acquired knowledge. LEARN++ is based on generating multiple classifiers, each trained with a different subset of the training data and then combining them to form an ensemble of classifiers using weighted majority voting. The fundamental contribu...
متن کاملIn-process detection of weld defects using laser-based ultrasound
Laser-based ultrasonic (LBU) measurement shows great promise for on-line monitoring of weld quality in tailor-welded blanks. Tailor-welded blanks are steel blanks made from plates of differing thickness and/or properties butt-welded together; they are used in automobile manufacturing to produce body, frame, and closure panels. LBU uses a pulsed laser to generate the ultrasound and a continuous ...

متن کاملUltrasonic Inspection of Sub-Surface Defects In Aluminium Die- Castings
Non-destructive testing using ultrasonic measurement is used to ensure the quality of the die-casting products. The quality of a casting depends on the presence of discontinuities such as porosity and on the final metallurgical structure. Discontinuities occurring in the sub-surface of the cast structure mostly have irregular surfaces which scatter the ultrasound waves and make ultrasonic testi...
متن کاملNoise Reduction in Ultrasonic Signals for Identification of Weld Defects: A Review
In Ultrasonic Inspection, the first and foremost step to find the defects in welding materials used in industrial applications is Noise Reduction. It is used to improve the detect ability of the weld defects. It plays a vital role in Flaw Detection and Characterization of materials such as Austenitic Stainless Steels etc. This study gives a review of various noise reduction schemes or technique...
